L.J. in our Hearts : HIS story through brother Gary G.

Eulogy message on behalf of the Guingon Family.

LIVE JESUS IN OUR HEARTS : HIS story through brother Gary G.

Dear Friends and Love ones,

Being with Christ in passion and gentleness, Edgardo 'Gary' Magno Guingon finally

'let go' of his earthly body for 53 years last June 18, 2009, on the eve of the Feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Gary had fatal stroke on June 12, the celebration of our Independence and we sense his ‘ultimate freedom’.  His son, Paolo Brian, his caregiver for a decade, rushed him with kasambahay Rudy to nearby Salve Regina (Hail Holy Queen) hospital, for the emergency procedures. His brain scan showed a very serious threatening prognosis.

But with our new ‘skin’, our new lives with the Lord who lives in us,

giving us the 'Spirit', to guide and protect us, we shifted to the mode of:

Acceptance of our Journey of Faith,

Healing of minds and hearts of oneself and

Reliving upclose the greatest story of all, the passion, death & resurrection.

The first task was to call for a priest, Fr. Buboy of Christ the King arrived at the hour of Divine Mercy (3 p.m.), for the ‘anointing of  the sick’ for our  brother Gary. Truly the ultimate gift, empowering him of the Holy Spirit to seek the Light in his ultimate Journey to the heavenly kingdom.

We continue to serve, as we observe our our nine-day novena for the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Transforming his room into a healing hall, with praise, worship and healing music. The Family that prays together, stays together. Emer served as a lector and music minister with CFC -IC in a Charismatic Saturday mass at Christ the King . Son-Brian, Kuya Boyet, Jun & Ella had their private time with Gary.

We knew Gary G. is just waiting fervently for the arrival of his earthly jewels. His wife, Luvi from America, hopefully with his sons, Raphael and Mark and his eldest son, Glenn, from Dubai, who requested the full medication needs for his father.

Truly, on June 18 early morning, Glen arrived followed by Luvi, his two sons stayed and prayed in America.  And so did our family, relatives, friends, churchmates, from Monsi Dan Sta. Maria to Bishop Raul of Christ the King, from Fr. Suarez to Father Reuter , communities from Catholic to Christians et al, through social networks from emails , facebook, twitter et al , globally , with traditional and technology tools ,  we all stormed the heavens through prayer power.

HIS Divine mercy showered us with his graces, after the 6 pm Angelus, and Luvi's utterance for Gary g. to 'let go' and follow the Light.  At 6:15 p.m., Gary rested in peace. Finally, independence from earthly body unto the resurrection phase for 40 days.

God is truly awesome in His goodness. He draws in crooked lines. ‘Be still’, ‘Do not be afraid’ for  I AM HERE.  He is the producer / director of HIS story through Gary.

On June 19, 2009, on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, after the Holy Eucharist presided by His reverence, Bishop Raul Martirez, his body was cremated at Loyola Marikina.  We, the Guingons, in this 'difficult' times, are inspired by the 'Catholicity'of the Filipino soul, which has made our country richer than those of the West.  This country may be poor in material things, but it's very rich in spirit, in its devotion to life, laughter & love.

June 19th, the natal day of our National hero, Fr. Reuter said that :

this spirit is best epitomized by Jose Rizal during his farewell to Josephine Bracken, who he married just before his martrydom, when he said that we Filipinos have only the land, the sea, the sun and rain and not much else, but in our nothingness, precisely, we have also discovered that we have each other.

Gary g. is our hero, aside from being the historical 'EDSA 1- channel 4' photographer in front of the tank, with his Corolla full body sticker of 'HINDI KA NAG-IISA' Yellow slogans. He is a brave rebel with a cause.  He is a Fighter. He fought his illness to the fullest that resulted to our family's revival of  'bayanihan' and love for one another. Even during this financial crisis, we have Abundance of Love, from all of you and HIS most gracious and Sacred Heart. Totoo nga , "Hindi kami nag-iisa "!

Thank you for the prayers, service and love.

In the Green tradition, thank you for your Faith, service and communion.

Pls. omit flowers, direct your love offerings to Gary’s eldest son, Glen Guingon, a loving OFW / young son who labored for the sake of his father / brothers.  Also, for his wife, Luvi, a global Filipino worker, a loving wife and Mother who labored for her ‘Joseph’ and four sons. We honor Brian, his caregiver-son, who like Apostle John stayed with Mary on the Cross.

On this Father’s day, June 20, 2009, here at the St. Joseph’s hall in Mount Carmel Church, our beloved parish, from our formative to married life years,

we are back to reunite and CELEBRATE as we thank our Good Lord, for HIS and YOUR PRESENCE in our lives.

We live you with Philippians 3: 3-14 ,

Just one thing , forgetting what lies behind,  moving forward in Hope,

toward the goal , the prize is Jesus”.

Live Jesus in our hearts, FOREVER!
